Human Resource of Nizhnekamskneftekhim with the support of specialists from R&D Center of the company organized “Case-Challenge” competition for the students of industry-specific and under the patronage schools. Each group of participants — schoolchildren, students of colleges and universities — was offered five in ten cases.
“Our goal was to create unique tasks which required logical reasoning and out-of-the-box thinking. We brought the participants closer to global issues that require the most comprehensive approach — chemical, technical, the ability to make optimal decision,” said Ms. Olga Trifonova, chairperson of the jury, Deputy Director of R&D Center of Nizhnekamskneftekhim.
Authors of the best works from more than 50 students who signed up for the competition were selected to participate in the final live stage, which took place at N.Lemaev College of Petrochemicals and Refineries.
“Advantage of these cases is that there is no single answer in each of them,” believes Ivan Shiyan, a student of Nizhnekamsk Institute of Chemical Technology. “You can achieve the goals from different ways and give different answers. I consider the case method is very popular and it will prove productive in the future.”
In addition to the science, the organizers of “Case-Challenge” competition set tasks for the event to promote the development of leadership and innovation potential of young people, which included not only a technically correct answer, but also its presentation, as well as a way of thinking.
According to the results of the competition live stage the winners were:
Marat Galimov (lyceum No. 24) - I place among students of schools under the patronage;
Andrey Emelyanov, Matvey Shmelev, Alina Kalmykova - (N.Lemaev College of Petrochemicals and Refineries) – I place among students of colleges in nomination of group work;
Tair Mukhametchin – (Nizhnekamsk Institute of Chemical Technology) – I place among students of universities.
In the view of petrochemists, a priority activity of the enterprise is to create an efficient career guidance system to facilitate professional identity among young people appropriate to their wishes, capacities and special needs. The graduates of educational institutions under the patronage may get both in-demand job and stable employment with all social guarantees.
It should be noted that the joint-stock company employed 300 graduates of basic educational institutes in 2020 and 870 students did an internship at the enterprise.
