What changes have occurred at the construction site of Biological Treatment Facilities? Whereupon do we count on in the course of the Biological Treatment Facilities revamp? Answers to these and other questions Nizhnekamsk journalists received during the press tour. They visited the site, where construction works are being completed within the framework of the second stage of the large-scale reconstruction of the Biological Treatment Facilities.Media representatives evaluated the changes that had occurred for three months since their last visit to the treatment facilities in early November 2018. For this period, the construction site, where the revamp of the mechanical purification plant for chemically contaminated waste waters is in progress, was equipped with new facilities. To date, the installation of rainwater drainage system from the pumping station has been completed and underground networks have been laid. Such reinforced concrete structures as a basin for collecting polymer flakes, sand traps, 4 preaerators, and flotation sludge pump station were installed. Specific equipment installation on sand traps is in progress. Two tanks were installed, hydraulic tests were performed. The installation and piping connections of gas purification units are being completed.
One of the most effective and sophisticated technologies of wastewater treatment using aeration method with the purification of hydrocarbons on biofilters is being introduced at the Biological Treatment Facilities. This method is used in Europe, and now it will be applied at Nizhnekamskneftekhim wastewater treatment facilities. For the operation of the biofiltration system, four preaerators are built on the site. Those round structures are used to blow out and collect volatile substances coming from waste waters into the gas purification system. Here they will be neutralized by special microorganisms. The entire system is sealed, so no harmful substances can enter the atmosphere. Thus, the specialists will be able to purify the waste waters with an efficiency up to 95%.
However, after the first stage of reconstruction of the mechanical purification unit for sanitary waste waters, which was completed in 2016, the following results were obtained: in 2018 compared to 2017, the concentration of iron in the purified waste waters decreased by 19%, aluminum - by 16%, sulfates - by 17%, suspended solids - by 21%, phenols - by 35%, surfactants - by 45%, formaldehyde - by 52%, methanol - by 71%. After completion of the second stage, the concentration of hydrocarbons in chemical waste water will drop and the efficiency of biological treatment will increase making the atmosphere clean.
Every day, up to 200 specialists work at the construction site. The workers are planning to complete the installation of equipment and begin testing by April. Within the framework of the revamp, the chemical laboratory of the Biological Treatment Facilities will be renewed and upgraded. Total overhaul is in progress in the offices, and additional laboratory equipment will be furnished in March.
For the 13th time, Nizhnekamskneftekhim placed its exhibition stand at the 22nd Moscow International Exhibition Interplastika - 2019. It took place from January 29 to February 1, 2019 in the Central Exhibition Complex Expocentre. This time, more than 700 companies from 35 countries worldwide took participation in this exhibition.
As before, products of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim have caused intense interest of exhibition visitors. During 4 days, it was traditionally crowded near the company's stand.
“We exhibit a stand in order to attract as many consumers of our products as possible, meet with them and agree on the issues of perspective and current cooperation. It has to be noted, from the past experience, that the results of the meetings are expected to be favorable. Today, the target is no longer just “to find a supplier”, but even more - to determine the way for the supplier and the processor to work more efficiently,” said Aydar Gilemkhanov, Deputy Head of Sales Division of Nizhnekamskneftekhim.
At international exhibition Interplastika-2019, the company presented wide range of products, emphasizing new brand assortment of plastics. In 2018, Nizhnekamskneftekhim did a huge work to substitute imported products. In particular, petrochemists mastered the production of bimodal polypropylene and released new grades of polystyrene for food package applications. Most recently, having mastered the large-scale production of linear low-density polyethylene, Nizhnekamskneftekhim became the manufacturer of one more “niche” product: medium-density polyethylene, which is used for the manufacture of products by rotational molding.
“We welcomed more than 50 regular partners and representatives of companies that are still showing interest in our products. It’s noteworthy that our new product, polyethylene for rotational molding applications, received particular attention, and a number of pre-orders were made. In addition, one of the benefits of the work at the exhibition was the positive opinion by VNIIKP (All-Russian Research and Development Institute for Cable Industry) upon the use of our polyethylene in the manufacture of the outer cable sheath. This was the outcome of our fruitful collaboration with the All-Russian Research and Development Institute for Cable Industry,” Marat Fatykhov, Head of Polymers Promoting Division of Nizhnekamskneftekhim, shared his impressions of the exhibition.
Since the start of production, 11 million tons of ethylbenzene were produced at Styrene and Polyether Resins Plant of Nizhnekamskneftekhim.
42 years ago, Nizhnekamskneftekhim ethylbenzene plant was the biggest in the country: high capacity units and equipment (unique at that time) were installed here. The first ton of commercial ethylbenzene from the first production line was released on October 4, 1977; the first ton from the second production line - on March 11, 1979.
Currently, the stable production process runs at a design capacity, thus ensuring high quality of the product.
Ethylbenzene is used as a raw material in styrene production. Then, styrene is supplied to the Plastics Plant for polystyrene and ABS plastics production.
The first bale of ultra-high cis-1,4 polybutadiene rubber (SKDN) was produced at Synthetic Rubber Plant of Nizhnekamskneftekhim on January 31, 2004. As of today, more than 1.7 million tons of this rubber has been produced.
SKDN is used in the tire and rubber industry, as well as in other sectors of the national economy for the manufacture of products for industrial and technical purposes.
Neodymium polybutadiene rubbers are characterized with high concentration of cis-1,4 polybutadienes (96-98%), linearity of polymer chains, no gel, good processability. Significant advantages of the product performances, if compared with other known types of cis-polybutadienes, along with the eco-friendly characteristics of both the polymers and the method of their production, determine the high competitiveness of neodymium polybutadienes in the domestic and foreign rubber markets.
Main consumers of Nizhnekamskneftekhim’s SKDN rubber are such well-known world leaders of tire production as Michelin, Pirelli, Continental, GoodYear, Bridgestone, PJSC Nizhnekamskshina
